Fic plot poll

Pretend this is a poll (I don't have a complicated account which will allow me to post a poll. Poor student and dislike of adverts, you see)

Question: Would you be willing to read a fic with some Arthur/Morgana early on with the revelation (much later on) that Igraine was also Morgana's mother? (PS, the fic is not Arthur/Morgana overall)

Basically, on a scale of 1-10, how squicked would you be by reading this?

1 being "Hey, it's from the legends, sure, whatever" and 10 being "clicking away instantly and never reading anything you write ever again".

I know that there are people on my flist (especially in other fandoms) who aren't bothered at all by this kind of idea, and I suspect that my flist doesn't have a huge number of people likely to run screaming, but I'd like reactions all the same, before I explore this in a potentially less friendly environment.

I'd be fine with this- I tend to see incest (particularly unintentional incest) as tragic rather than anything else- so it's a 1 from me.

(p.s. I've nearly finished the first half of the world war one fic you suggested to me- it should be up very soon : ) )

(You are writing that? YAY I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT!)

I really have no right to say anything other then 1.

Obviously that's where I stand too, or I wouldn't be asking the question. But I thought I'd do a survey (and potentially ignore the results anyway).

;) hee.

I would read it and not be squicked at all. I don't get squicked by anything.

Good, another vote in the 'yup, do it' column :)

Do we assume that they're going to skip the whole filthy incest in the show? Shame, that.

I suspect they made Morgana Uther's ward so that they didn't have to deal with it at all. But hey, since Arthur's clearly sleeping with Merlin they didn't need to bother.

OIC. There was a secret on fandom secrets about how someone was nervous about when Arthur and 'Gwen' get together because Gwen's don't get a good reception in fandoms.

I wanted to reply "Dude, only when they a)get in the way of the boylove or b)ARE GIANT CHEATING WHORES" (albeit in later life. ;) )

I think they should dispense with historical/legand/classical references and just embrace the troo luv.

I am tempted to write a Merlin/Arthur/Morgana/Gwen orgy extravaganza. Just for the hell of it.

... about 2/3-ish, maybe? Depends... I suppose so long as it's not overall and such... *is possibly guilty of the Supernatural incest between Sam and Dean* I guess it would depend on the context it was in... I'd be less likey to read it, unless there was some other pairing later...

Context: fic starts with past and current Arthur/Morgana. Becomes Arthur/Morgana/Merlin. Ends. Sequel is Arthur/Morgana/Merlin briefly, then Arthur/Merlin, Morgana/someone else. Then they find out that Morgana is Arthur's half sister.

*votes here too*

Totally one, especially in that context. I wouldn't rank my squick-meter always at a one with incest, but in this case? Totally.

Spelling fail, oh dear. I promise I normally catch these things when I beta. LOL.

Well that's good to hear :)

1. Because, er, number one, it's you writing; two, sibcest in fic doesn't squick me; and three, especially unwitting sibcest, a la Star Wars.

Personally, I usually don't read incest fic, Wincest and the like. But there is a difference when the act is unknowing. That is the stuff of tragedy, but that always struck me as unjust. I guess I'd go with a 1.

Fair enough. I want to explore this idea because of their relationship in the legends, which the show is so clearly going to avoid. I'm glad that you wouldn't be horrified to read it.
