Merlin Prompt Post

There are two types of prompt that I would like:

1. Word prompts.

ie: turbulence
luminescence
frogs

2. Scenario prompts.

ie: Uther is Merlin's father
Magic is not forbidden
Merlin has wings


In both cases, this is not a fic request because I can't promise that what I write will bear more than a tenous connection to what you said (although a scenario prompt is bound to slightly more...) but they are starting points for me to think about.

(note: I don't really want to write modern AUs of any kind at this point. AUs insofar as the canon has been altered in some way are fine)

Please post as many times as you would like!

Merlin figures out/accidentally spells himself some form of telepathy or telempathy and hijinks ensue. (my favorite trope in this fandom tends to be pining!Arthur and oblivious!Merlin, with a bit of denying/jealous/possessive!Arthur for good measure, so any scenario where that can be incorporated it would be cool!)

also, i see all these modern!AUs and some Merlin-time-travel ones, and it makes me wonder--what would happen if the boys (or the girls, or all four of them) popped up in a modern setting? (blame some magic device+accidental spell.) would they all immediately look at Merlin? not realize that he's magic without him confessing and freaking out? how long before they figure out how to get back? what would they discover first and what would they remember? etc etc.

WOW how much do I love that idea! Hee! (I've been coming to the conclusion that every single person in this fandom should write a) a bodyswap fic b) a genderfuck fic and c) a modern AU. Y'know, just to get them out of the way :P Maybe ALL IN ONE FIC)

Saying that, whenever I think about a modern AU I come up with other ideas like HIGHWAYMAN AU!

This cliche just has to be written. Just has to. I'd vote for Arthur as the one being under the influence, since he's always struck me as a bit of a control freak and well that would involve losing control.

What I would love to see is just this:
everyone's assuming Arthur and Merlin are sleeping together or at least noticing that Arthur doesn't treat Merlin like a normal servant (at that either in the good,the romantic way or in the bad way,that they believe Arthur is just using Merlin for sex,especially since Arthur often is acting like a prat towards Merlin even in public as seen in the series). And if there could be some jealousy,that's all I need :)
It would be awesome if you could write something like that...
