I've debated over posting this comment, but in the end decided it was something I couldn't let pass. It isn't aimed at any person in particular, but at the general mood on my flist.

The end of a relationship is not a reason to be joyful. It's an odd sort of fan who doesn't care for the happiness of the star. And even in the relationship was not a happy one, something we are in no position to judge, then there are still regrets on both sides when it ends. He's a real man, remember, not some character we have invented.

She's caused enough divisions in the fandom already. What's going to happen when the next blonde starlet happens along?

That sums it up for me as well. I see a happier Orlando, and a healthier-looking Kate, and both things seem to me to be reason to celebrate.

I try for equal opportunity snark and mostly non-fandom topics in my LJ, but occasionally I enjoy being silly and petty, as I said in my post. If you would prefer to be filtered out of such things, feel free to let me know.

If you want an honest answer then yes, please filter me out of such posts. I don't want to argue with anyone but it disappoints me to see people I otherwise like and admire acting in a way I dislike. I'm sorry.

I agree to this. If I thought they had been in a happy, healthy relationship then I would be upset at it's demise. But I saw nothing like that in the past two years.

Now I see smiles from both parties. And I plan to enjoy it.

I want Orlando happy, and he didn't seem happy... and I don't have anything against kate (really :)) , so I hope they both will be ok!
