Right, the map gives the Roman name for Carlisle as "Lvgvvalivm". Going on the fact that "v" is often "u" it's either Lugvualium or Luguvalium.

I've failed to find an answer so I'll use whichever the first person to comment choses. Doubt there'll be anyone fussy enough to complain reading the fic.

ETA: It'll be Luguvalium. olivia_ramirez thinks that sounds like a better pronunciation. :)

I think it is Luguvalium. It makes the most sense pronounciationwise.

:) Thanks. That's what I'd used in the first place, but when I went back to check it I realised I'd made assumptions.
