You know what? Scratch that earlier post because I'm ashamed of it.

I don't want to win the banabloom contest if it's a popularity contest. Obviously I want my story to win, but only if you think it's better than the others.

The way this is going now, with all the pimping, if I were to win I wouldn't know whether it's on merit. And to be honest in those circumstances I would rather not win at all. Go vote for the story you think is the best.

For what it's worth, I voted for the story I thought was the best written. And it wasn't my own.

I believe you were about on the second chap. of Strangers
when we friended each other and I know I'm terribly behind
on a lot of things due to R/L and such, especially f/b
I loved Strangers by the way and I love your style.
So far you are the only one that has been able to get me to
read a non V/O and that was 'No Aphrodite'I voted for it
because it was great (and to be fair I even skimmed the others.. shhh!) But I really thought the rps & fps
together was very well done and I hope you win.

Well thank you. As you can tell I'm a V/O girl myself, but I do get dragged into other things. I'm flattered that you read something that wasn't your pairing, and even more so that you liked it. I couldn't decide which pairing to do, so I did both.

And I'm glad you like Strangers. I have a soft spot for it myself. Watch this space for my new Viggorli series (which is currently no more than half of the first chapter...)

If this is refering to me, I'm not pimping myself out every day like that because I want it to be - or think it is - a popularity contest. I'm doing it because 95% of my flist doesn't read my journal - ever. To be truthful, I'm not sure why 95% of my flist has me friended. I'm doing it more or less as a joke because they spam the shit out of my flist with mindless crap anyway.

I wasn't refering to you particularly. It was aimed at all of us, including myself. I have lots of the contestants on my flist and we're all doing it. I just decided that I'd had enough. I didn't mean to insult you or anything.

I'll admit it, I kinda was insulted by that. Which is not to say you don't have a point, I'm pimping because I think or possibly hope my brand of pimping is amusing.

Most people will vote for the story they want to win. I voted for the one I liked the most, as I'm sure most of the people involved will. Yeah, I want to win, I'm not ashamed of that, but I still probably won't as my fic is not the best thing up there by some way, and it'll be all the better a victory for the eventual winner when even shameless pimping doesn't help.

I know you won't mind me saying this because I know you're not an oversenstive fangirl who will proceed to defriend me, but I was ticked, so I thought I'd say.

Kinda OT, but I'm going to share anyway. It's just bloody typical, not of you in the slightest, but of the crap going through VigOrli at the moment, that I have spent the last fifteen minutesbloody terrified of upsetting anyone with that comment. Which makes no sense, because I no more meant insult than you did with the original post.
Why? why should I be worried? someone rational and intelligent expressed an opinion, I (also rational and intelligent) expressed my views. You're not going to get upset, nobody else is. Why whould I then be wigging out? I have no idea, but I know I wasn't doing this a month ago.

Never shut up, I would miss your comments too much! Obviously I'm not upset and neither should anyone else be. We're expression our views: I was concerned at the focus the competition was taking and you were providing your opinion on it.

So that is that. I hate that people would be offended. I love our fandom, and the ranting has cleared the air, but I hate that people get to feel that they need to censor what they express. That defeats the object of LJ.

How about we continue our mission after I've had lunch? You must be getting slightly cramped in there by the catsuits.

As it appears you are aware, I didn't mean to insult you. If anything I was horrified at myself for following suite. I'm just tired of all the bitching in the fandom and I'm not about to get involved. I love the contest and the way it's made us write, but I'm not about to let it become a serious issue.

I know you haven't and, hell, of course I want to win too or we wouldn't have bothered entering. I just don't want it to go beyond our friendly teasing.
