That really made me smile! Thanks. I'm not paranoid 90% of the time. I'm in pretty good shape (and the rowing has seriously helped that) I don't feel guilty about what I eat any more.
But the lycra...ugh. I suppose the positive side is it looks awful on everyone (and we have some very fit men in out boat club - lycra leaves nothing to the imagination. In theory: drool. In practice: no thanks. Never thought I'd say that).
No one looks good in Lycra. It's an evil petroleum product that you can't even burn successfully without getting horrible noxious fumes that make you want to faint.
However, you in Lycra is probably a lot better looking than the poor actress we're currently padding out ... (and the fact that there's a rumor afloat that our padding will be cut today shall be ignored).
And everyone else at these races will be wearing Lycra as well, or something similarily clingy, and no one will be looking at you in Lycra. They will be marvelling at your superior racing skills and saying "Oh my! That girl can row!"
Thanks! And this reply was at exactly the right time. I've got to put it on in twenty minutes.
It is rowing - I'm the number five for Queens' seconds. And just a little bit nervous.
I don't know if you know anything about Bumps, but the aim is the hit the boat in front before the boat behind hits you. It's five consecutive days of races, but each division gets a day off. Ours is tomorrow, except if we drop a place (get hit today) we lose that day off because of our place in the division. I have far too much work to race tomorrow! And of course, it's a huge important race and we want to move up, not down.
So to be honest, I'm not so worried about the lycra now. I just want to race and bump up!

Not sure if this will work for the race, but it works at other times.
too much lycra is deadly...and feels like crap.
