I have spent the whole day reading crap about Henry VI's deposition. Or actually, looking for info on Henry VI's deposition and completely failing to find it. Gonna be a great essay this week! The only thing that made me smile today was finding this in a textbook:
Abbot Wheathampstead's verdict on the victory of the northerners at St Albans in 1455 was that 'their opponents were effeminate, more like Paris than Hector in their bearing'
At least the thought of Orlando and Eric brightened a dull moment.
In fact, I'm going to go write Edward IV/Richard III slash, because that will at least put some of this knowledge to good use. Don't mind me!
And finally: if you could fuck someone from history who would it be? (Mine would either be Ed IV or Ed III, both in the last days before or the first days after seizing power. Sexy teenage kings with enough guts to beat off their opponents.)

Date: 2004-02-16 01:45 pm (UTC)I'd do Alexander the Great, except he was notoriously gay.
Henry V, maybe, or at least Shakespeare's version.
Does the Silmarillion count as history? ;)
