My darlings I have just been given the best, most beautiful gift: four hours.

For those of you who moan about bordom, this may not be special. But I have nine or ten hours a day accounted for (weekends don't exist) and those that aren't I have to study in.

This afternoon I was meant to be racing, but the wind is too strong to go out on the river and our captain has pulled us for safety reason. We're also expecting to hear any minute now that the race was cancelled anyway.

So I was expecting to be busy all afternoon and so got up and studied all morning to make up for it. Now, if I was dedicated I'd work now and then have time off tomorrow when I'm done.

But I'm not.

I'm going to go spend some money I don't have, then come back and write slash. You may get the next chapter of Strangers sooner than i had thought!

Hey, random American question that I forgot to ask you: what does it mean to "pull" someone? I wish I was British just so I could talk like you. ^_^

Okay: depends where you are.
Where I live (N Wales) it means to attract someone. It's not specific - spending the evening with someone exclusively at a club without anything happening between you could count as a pull - it's the process of attracting them enough to make them stay.
In Cambridge it is specifically kissing (in a sexual way - I think it has to be tongue to qualify, but I'm not 100% sure). What is also known by the hideous word 'snogging'.

Hope that's a help.

Hee. "Snog" always sounded faintly dirty to me; I always chalked it up to being American. But I resigned myself to using it cause everyone else did too. I rather like "pull" though.

'Snog' sounds horrible and degrading. I try to avoid using it, but that's just me.

Oh, and in reference to my 'the guy I pulled in France', which I suspect is what led to the question - it was both.

Yeah, that was it.

A Frenchmen! We get Texans and you get the French. Life is not fair. ;)
