Tiny Christmas ficlet
Dec. 16th, 2003 02:54 pmHere is a tiny bit of fic, mainly for
olivia_ramirez
The Vigorlijah that I'm writing has hit a dead end. I can't work out what's wrong with it, but I'm definitely not happy with it.
The next chapter of Strangers is almost finished and I have started work on a David Wenham/Sean Bean Christmas fic. Oh, and another Viggorli.
Maybe I should concentrate on one at a time? Oh, but where's the fun in that?
Anyway, here is today's offering:
Beep
Oh, Christopher, it’s Ian here. I guess you’re not in. I just thought I’d try and catch you to say Merry Christmas. But since there’s still a few days, I’ll try and call you later. Bye.
Beep
Christopher, still not in? You’re a busy man. Well I hope you’re having a nice time. I’m in LA now on my way back from Sidney. I’m going to stay here and have Christmas with the boys. What am I letting myself in for? I’ll talk to you soon.
Beep
Where are you Saruman? Avoiding your colleagues? I hope you will come meet up with us at the DVD launch. It’s a bit strange to think that all this is nearly over. No more premieres and all that. Although you only went to one, this time around. I’m glad you made up with Peter. We wizards need to stick together and I know seeing you there meant a lot to Viggo. That was his day, after all.
I apologise for the noise in the background. It’s those tiresome hobbits.
Beep
Christopher, I almost believe you’re avoiding me. Merry Christmas!
I suspect it’s the last time I celebrate Christmas with these dear co-stars of ours. Much as I love the constant kisses under the mistletoe, I think I’m getting a bit old for this. Elijah and Dom are singing Christmas carols at the top of their voices. It sounds like that loud music they used to play in our trailer. I thought carols were supposed to be melodic. And I haven’t had my Christmas smooch with the elf because Viggo is being all possessive.
I hope you’re having a great day. Bye.
Briiiiiiiing, briiiing. Briiiiiing, bring.
“Hello?”
“Hello Ian.”
“Hello Christopher! Merry Christmas.”
“And Merry Christmas to you. What is that racket?”
“It’s the hobbits. Again. They never shut up and they’re drunk now anyway.”
“You’re with the boys?”
“Yes. I told you that. Didn’t you check your messages?”
“I don’t have an answering machine.”

Date: 2003-12-16 07:35 am (UTC)Pity you're stuck with the Viggorlijah. Perhaps if you leave it alone for a few days inspiration will come.

Date: 2003-12-16 01:24 pm (UTC)I've re-written the beginning of the Viggorlijah - but I think you're right. Maybe I'll be re-inspired after ROTK. In the mantime I'll work on the Christmas fic and Strangers.

"We don't have an answering machine."
Stupid thing was the house' message wasn't even in English, and it still didn't click. *hits forehead*
