Am currently embroiled in the next assignment, but am doing ok - the merlin_the_elf fic went in, and my tamingthemuse for tomorrow is 90% done (I also want to post it tomorrow for sissi's birthday, since she inspired it eons ago). Then I need to take another few days to work on the essay. :( But I can find the balance...

Lol, I had a sudden panic earlier in the week (I had been getting NOWHERE with the prompts) and wrote it after some brainstorming with a friend. It's not the best thing I've ever written, but it's cute (I may be approaching my limit with fluffy fics though, what with that and Something to Talk About in such short succession!) and I hope the recipient will like it.
I hope I can get it done for tomorrow. I just noticed that it was her birthday and that seemed like as good a reason to post as any.
I've had years of practice with that particular juggling act, just not for a few years. I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of it...
I don't think anyone's merlin_the_elf fic will turn out to be the best thing they've ever written, so I wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure the recipient will like it however it turned out - you're one of the people in this fandom that always produces good quality fic, regardless of the plot (I apologise for the amount of arse licking that sounded like, lol).

I can't wait to actually post this fic. It's been lingering around on my HD for weeks and weeks growing gradually longer. It was meant to be porny ficlet, but it grew a plot and was taking forever to get to the porn part. I'm looking forward to posting it and getting on with something different!
God, I know that feeling. I'm working on a fic atm that was intended as a hurt/comfort ficlet but is now 6000 words and growing... ah well, at least you can never say Merlin doesn't offer plenty of plotbunnies!

And no, plot bunnies multiply like... bunnies... in this fandom! I love that. I love that I can write short silly pieces and charactery bits and porn ficlets AND I can plot away at giant, epic mythology fic and it all works just fine.
I've got it saved. I have crapppy internet here though (I have to watch my Merlin episodes on Sunday mornings because my internet is so bad in the evening) that I'm prob going to just download them when i get home.
Ouch. But at least you will get to see them! And think about it this way, even when the internet connection is great, we only get to see Merlin here on Sunday afternoon/even, so relatively speaking Sunday morning is still good. ;)
