oooh travel plans!

Just to let you know, I'm about to go travelling for three months and while I will have access to the internet some of the time, I won't be reading my flist much.

I realise that I've hardly posted for months, but I have been commenting on other people's posts and that is not very likely to continue until I get back.

I'm going to Bolivia, travelling up through Peru to Ecuador, spending a few days at a jungle lodge, taking a cruise around the Galapagos islands, then flying up to Mexico, exploring there for a while before headed up to California. At the end of May I'm flying out of San Francisco to Singapore for a week before heading back to London.

EDIT: I'm flying out on Weds the 28th of Feb and landing back at Heathrow on 7th June.

Oooh! So 6 days later and I could have bumped into you at the airport? *lol*

Are you going to stop at Machu Pichu and lake Titicaca? Highly recomended (although I must protest that my own little Chile has been ignored - if nothing else our buses are much better than Peru's as I painfully discoved;p).

Have a wonderful time and I demand to see pics when you finaly get back :)

Our initial plans started in Chile - the girl I'm travelling with has family friends there and we were intending to go visit them. We were also going to stop in Costa Rica or Panama on our way north. But we were getting very stretched so we decided to cut back and have a little bit longer to do each of the things so that we didn't feel so rushed. It also gives us an excuse to go back :P

And of course I will share pics!

Oh, and yes, we've booked the Inca trail (which I suspect is going to be a strain) to Macchu Picchu and an overnight stay on one of the islands in lack Titicaca. It's supposed to be spectucular.

I would love to do the Inca Trail some day, we were a little pushed for time and also we had the munchkins with us so we got the train from Cuzco which btw I loved as well. I guess quite a lot depends on how you adjust to the altitude but if you're going up through Bolivian first I guess you'll be ok - also drink the coca tea. ;)

Taquile island by any chance? make sure to see the totora islands as well while you're there...

Costa Rica, Mexico, the Galapagos & Honduras are still on my 'to visit' list ;p

Yay pics!
