One of my supervisors has room which is regency panelled with shuttered windows and a high ceiling. There's a big fireplace on the mantle above which is a photograph of his wife, his graduation photograph and a scale model of Minas Tirith.

When I pointed it out he looked slightly embarrassed. Then he realised that I hadn't said 'isn't that that place from lord of the rings?' but that I'd identified it by name. Huge, cheeky schoolboy grin. :)

My sister is as bad as I am.

And my boyfriend knows the books inside out, although he's less of a geek of the film versions. He does, of course, have all three EE DVDs though.

Hehe. I see. I'm not too fussed in terms of fandom. I mean, my preferences are obvious, but I'm more than willing to enthuse about Harry Potter too, it's just been a long time since I wrote any.

And yes, slash is love. Or something like that :P

Well, being the realleh great friend that I am :B, I watch the HP films and manage to squee at the slashiness with them, they do likewise at LotR films.
Slash has no coercion. Slash needs no coercion. heh

It's always great to find other people into LotR. Like when one of my brother's friends commented that my Easter egg box looked like a LotR EE DVD, I knew I'd found someone just as obsessed... ;)

I love that kind of thing. Like the first time Lousie and I realised we had a bunch in common, it was when someone brought in some top trumps they'd found at work and she and I both fell on them searching for aragorn and legolas, and went "Ew, Arwen" at the same moment.

IT was love, I tell you, LOVE
