May. 27th, 2005 11:36 amOne of my supervisors has room which is regency panelled with shuttered windows and a high ceiling. There's a big fireplace on the mantle above which is a photograph of his wife, his graduation photograph and a scale model of Minas Tirith.
When I pointed it out he looked slightly embarrassed. Then he realised that I hadn't said 'isn't that that place from lord of the rings?' but that I'd identified it by name. Huge, cheeky schoolboy grin. :)
