I went punting because our punts get put away for the winter this weekend. We brought bottles of Bucks Fizz and went up the Cam. Two friends came out of a lecture and phoned us, picked up pizza and joined us at Magdalene Bridge for the journey back. It took an hour on the river and would have scarecly taken 15 mins on foot.

It got cold and dark (it was late afternoon) and the sky was a bruised purple and it began to rain as we passed King's. The sun was still out and King's College Chapel was all golden against the purple sky. A full arc of a rainbow surrounded it. Even with a fantastic camera I would have been hard pressed to capture it.

A truly Cambridge experience.

It's fantastic. I spend days so caught up in work or whatever and then every so often I look around and realise how stunning it is here and how lucky I am to be at the best university in the world.
