I don't know what's happened to me but I just had an incredible desire to read LOTR FPS.

Can you tell me what your favourites are? And it doesn't matter what the pairing is (yes, you Frodo/Sam people, this might be your one chance to come out of the woodwork...).

And, if you like, tell me why you like this particular fic.

I'm sure it doesn't surprise you that I'm an A/L girl, lol. If you're interested, one of the best I've read recently (and one of the best ever, IMO) is [livejournal.com profile] niennas_dreams's Deliquescence. It's actually Estel/Legolas - very pre-LOTR (Estel is 19 in it). It's beautifully written, and there's ear porn! :D

I love [livejournal.com profile] claudia603's writing. Her site is here and I can really recommend her Too Long To Wait series and Down on Luck. Both are mpreg/interspecies [Frodo/Aragorn].
Another FPS writer that is worth checking out is [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan. Her fics are on her LJ and on Fanfiction.net.
And then there's Fennelseed. She writes mostly Sam/Frodo and her stuff is hot. Fics here.

The Gift is Aragorn/Legolas by [livejournal.com profile] chaosmanor. It's one of her earliest fics that she then took up again and continued. the beginning is a bit rocky, but then it gets really good.

:) Thanks! I vaguely remember that one, actually. Along with [livejournal.com profile] stewardess_lotr's stuff, I think [livejournal.com profile] chaosmanor's FPS might be among the only I've read. Thanks for reminding me!

Heya. FPS, when done well, is prolly my favorite kind of fic. I used to not read RPS at all, but after falling in love with A/L I started to see the V/O light.

Anywooo. I may have rec'd this fic to you before? I dunno. I did just a little while ago and I don't remember to whom. But 'Leaves of Gold' by Lady E (http://lbes.randomramblings.net/leavesofgoldbyladye.htm) is very very good. Its quite long and SAD, but if you're up for a goodie I'd certainly recommend that.

Also, 'Alliances of the Heart' by Soar (http://lbes.randomramblings.net/alliancesoftheheartbysoar.htm) is one that I remember liking. Its an epic though, long. But I shamlessly enjoyed it. And yeah, MPREG, which is lurve. I think it was my first MPREG too...those were the days...

Thanks! (I'm not sure about the Mpreg, I still have reservations about that, despite all Jassy, Elaine and Darcy have done to convince me otherwise)

hi there! when i saw nobody had mentionned them, i had to. capella and elfscribe are two of the few authors who write delightful lotr fps and truly made me believe i was facing elves and not only a clever/poised/whatever version of good and beautiful humans.

http://www.geocities.com/c_capella2000/
capella's little snippets are simply delicious. the main stories are amazing. some legolas/aragorn, but she got me into legolas/imrahil and they are simply perfect. her OC, kallim, in sea of sand is *sigh* so fascinating. settings are beautifully described, situations carefully explained, plot wonderful.

looong series but damn it is good... dragon fever includes an OC, it is my favorite part, if i had to choose. sensual...

two writers you shouldn't miss, enjoy!

The Greenleaf and Imladris series by [livejournal.com profile] eresse21 is perfection. It's a Legolas/Elrohir story, and it has some of the most touching, sweetest scenes ever in it. It will make your emotions run the gamut from 'awww...look what he did...' with a fond smile, to "Aw! Why did he do that?" with a fierce scowl.

She's an excellent writer. Young but oh so talented. Best FPS ever. Ever, I tell you.

Through Bitter Chains is, to this day, my favourite LOTR fic:

http://rhysenn.morethanart.org/lotr/tbc01.htm

Unfortunately it has been MIA for a while now. Don't know if it will ever be finished :(

That was the first bit of Lord of the Rings fanfiction I ever read. I'd completely forgotten it! Rhysenn was someone I knew from my Harry Potter days and it's her fault I'm here at all. So yeah, this one I'm very fond of. Sadly I doubt if it will be finished, Rhysenn moved on to other interests and hasn't been around at all recently.
