I actually have to say I'm somewhat disappointed to hear Orlando and Kate aren't engaged. I know that probably isn't a popular opinion, but that's how I feel all the same. I'd love to see him happy and settled and it certainly would make no difference at all to my writing slash about him.

Thank you for the link. I think your point of view is very valid, if you think he's straight. Which I don't, because my gaydar's too loud. And though it could be wrong, it never did in the past when it reached these noise levels. ;)

But I don't really hate Kate, though I don't like her either and I will occasionally diss her. In any case, I think it's great that you'll go on writing slash. Really, All I Need Is Slash! ;P

If I was Kate's parents [and I'm old enough to be *g*], I would not want her to get married next year, when she is still in college and only 22 or something. I'd try to talk her out of it. If they are happy and in love, delaying getting married for a few years won't matter at all.

If they do get married, I hope they pull off a secret one with no fricking helicopters divebombing them.

It was rather amusing to read the "story" as it was picked up by other gossip rags, as each one added a new lie. My favorite was the newspaper in India that reported they would get married in Las Vegas.

I've not actually seen any of the other reports. Not really followed the story at all.

My mum was married when she was two months older than I am now (a terrifying idea!) and I'm less than a year younger than Kate. Mum says (not that there's any chance of this) that she'd seriously be against my doing what she did. In her case it turned out well - 30 yrs later she's still with my dad. But still, she says now she was too young, especially moving across the world to be with him in a place very different and mostly speaking a different language.

I agree - if Kate and Orlando are in love then time won't make a difference. And yes, to hear them say they were married rather than they were engaged would actually be quite nice, given their evident need for privacy.

You know, not believing that Kate and Orlando are a couple doesn't mean we don't want him (or her) to be happy. Just that we have a different view of his private life.

All the VO shippers are not Kate haters :)
