aleathielA piece of quite interesting information. I was talking to our cleaning lady, who is deaf, about LotR. She says she normally just watches films with subtitles, but that she had taken her children to see these in the cinema. She said she had had no trouble at all lipreading in FotR, but got stuck in TTT because she couldn't understand Gollum.
I thought this was really interesting. I mean we all go on about how fabulous Gollum is, but I'd never thought about it in terms of lipreading.
(as an aside - this is the same woman who spoke to Christopher Lee twice in one day in London and even spoke to him and it wasn't until later that she realised who he was!)
