I just saw Spiderman 2.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are going in The Project, no doubt about it. Hell, I have to have women in there somewhere.

And what about Peter Parker/Harry Osborn? Is that not the ultimate angsty slash relationship?

I must admit I don't really know anything about Jake Gyllenhaal. I suspect after a certain gay cowboy movie I may become a fan though.

oh, Jake is a sweetheart! sleepy and mumbley. really darling

and yes, I expect that certain cowboy movie will raise a lot of Jake fans. I just kind of dread the Heath/Jake RPS that might pop up because Heath kind of shits me :(

I used to be a big Heath fan and I guess I'm still fond of him although it's kind of died. It sounds stupid but Heath/Jake sounds almost to obvious to be interesting to write given the circumstances.

yeah, kind of no forbidden element. people WILL write it though, whether there's droves of gay in the movie or not... because that's what we do, lol

but to the point, yes. some angsty HO/PP would not be frowned upon!

I saw that too tonight, and the random pervy thought that crossed mt mind was 'that spidy trick would be useful for bondge'.
I definatly like the PP/HO idea... with spidy bondage of course!

I was boggled watching Spiderman 2, as I couldn't believe the amount of angst in the Peter/Harry relationship. And what makes it so hilariously delicious is that it's totally unrequited! Peter hardly knows Harry exists! LMAO.

When Harry slapped Peter at the party, my sis leaned over and said, "I can't believe he just monkeyslapped his boyfriend at a party. Twice."

And when he tried to stab Peter at the end? And then Peter says to him, "This is bigger than you and me, Harry"... Oh ANGST!

Exactly. My sister, at the slapping scene, leaned over and said "How dare you forget me? I've angsted over you." Sounds like she's on the same wavelength as your sister.

Peter hardly knows Harry exists! LMAO.
That's what makes it so perfect.

*lol* Brilliant.

Wasn't going to watch S2. Still won't, because I damn near broke (and there's the Bad Education precedence) but I will definitely look for it when it comes on video. VHS, that is. DVDs are too expensive. Say, does this poor student stage ever end?

Don't think so. It stretches beyond the horizon for me. And just to rub it in, many of the students around me come from wealthy backgrounds. Of the "shall I stay at the house in the country tonight?" variety.

House in the country? *feels your pain* I think I just found the first good reason to be a student in Israel. We all work our asses off. If anyone has a bit of money, it's only army salaries leftovers. And human life is cheap, you know? ;)

We're not allowed jobs during term time. Apparently we wouldn't have enough time to get our studies done. And actually I believe that; we work our asses off, but it's at the library.

We do both. Job and library. Or *points at seminar paper awaiting* that's what we're supposed to be doing.

After a really horrible rehearsal lesson I figured the professor testing me tomorrow doesn't know the material. So what chance do I stand, after actually studying? *curses*

How can they force you not to work? Sounds very peculiar to me. Here, Uni doesn't even monitor the free fast internet service. *loves being able to watch FF Viggo and Marton pics*

I don't know that they can "force" us, but we live in college and it would become immediately obvious if someone was leaving to go to work somewhere. And they simply wouldn't be able to keep up with their studies. Our internet isn't monitored either.

I didn't mean to suggest that your computers are monitored. Just that I've heard of other universities where - at least when I heard about it - it has been done.

How long's the program for BA over there? Does that mean that you live on campus? I can't think why the difference, why it's so obvious here that it's not possible to have a degree without working at the same time.

Varies depending on the subject. Three or four years. Mine's three.

Does that mean that you live on campus?
Basically yes, although it doesn't actually work like that. I'm at Cambridge which runs differently to most other universities (I think the only collegiate universities are Oxford and Durham) in that you study within a collge which makes up part of the university. We're lectured to in our faculties, but tutor and director of studies are at the college. We live in college and some, if not all, social life is based around the collge. We have our own porters and nurses and so on. Have you ever seen Inspector Morse? That's at Oxford, but the university there runs in the same way.

For example: there are 150 first years at my college (they vary in size) whereas there are thousands of first years at the university. there are something like 400 first year historians, 10 of them at my college. The colleges aren't equal. Some are huge, some small, some old, some modern, and the have different stereotypes - the music college, the sporty college, the rich college and so on although they are pretty vague.

I guess it gives us some loyalty and sense of community. I know the names of all the people in my year and probably most of the undergraduates. In most universities you wouldn't have a hope in hell of that.
And obviously there are rivalries - particularly sporting rivalries.

Most here do a BA in three years too. Mine's going to be 22 credits more than the usual degree, so I'm doing four. But I'm the exception.

Wow, that's incredible! I remember something about Cambridge not being an ordinary uni, but I guess I didn't really understand how it works when I visited it. Probably because I was 14 at the time. ;) Amazingly enough, I still can recall very clearly how it looks. Guess it means I really liked it, doesn't it?

Will you think I'm a horrible person if I drift off for a few seconds, pondering the slashy possibilities? ;P Alright, okay, I'm back. I think.
