Troy fandom site

Y'know we need an archive site for the Troy fandom. One with a section for RPS and a section for FPS. I'd do it if I had the faintest idea how, but as I don't I'll have to beg someone else to.
It's just there's a lot of great stuff out there already, and I know it'll be a hassle to get it all gathered up and to get permission to archive from the authors (maybe we could just have links?) but I keep finding people looking for things, and I rec, and in the comments to the fic I rec I find someone else looking. And I don't mind leaving the links at all. But surely it would be easier if there were somewhere specific to go, to look under author or pairing or whatever?
Also, with all the new people joining the fandom I feel we should show them what we've got already. So that they can get the feel of the fandom. And its quality.
I've only posted this here because it's more a thought than a request for someone to take it on. But I'd like to know what you think. And then maybe I'll post elsewhere and look for a volunteer.
ETA: sorry. That's a pretty inarticulate post. I hope it made sense.

Date: 2004-05-24 10:47 am (UTC)Oh my goodness, that would be fantastic. Yes, now I've been shamed by everyone, I'm going to get the site up and running ASAP.
I always forget to tell you, I freaking love that icon of yours. When I first saw it, I read the words and thought, that sounds vaguely familiar... *grin* It's from my first fic, isn't it? LOL *makes cuckoo sounds*

Date: 2004-05-24 02:48 pm (UTC)Again with your 69 Event: since it's your site you should be the one making the exective decision as to whether they should be divided by pairing - ie one as Eric/Sean and then after as a threesome - or put them all as a threesome as a series. Depends what you do with the site really, I guess. If you link at the end of the first to the second, then it doesn't matter if they're categorised under different headings as you'd still be able to get from one to the next. But then you'd also need a link or something at the top of the sequel to say it's a sequel.
Do you want the veto on what goes in or are you willing to trust my judgement? Or do you want everything I find because at this short precious moment I haven't seen much, ahem, 'trash'.
Sorry to hassle, but this way I can start the list now and add to it gradually as I have time and as I find things.

Date: 2004-05-24 03:54 pm (UTC)As for the pairing/threesome issue, we can link at the bottom, and have a link to the sequel in brackets next to the title at the top, or just say it's a two part fic.
We can have categories for pairings and threesomes as well, but as long as the fics are properly linked from one to the other, it doesn't make that much of a difference. And of course we can alter as we go along.
