I just made a disappointing discovery. I surf LJ one handed if I eat in my room (especially breakfast) because that way I feel I can justify the not-working time. Anyway, that's irrelevant, that's just why it was right now.

I discovered that I've started finding sex scenes boring. Yeah, you heard me right. So many are so similar. It's just dull.

So, please rec me fics with original sex scenes (you all know me well enough to know my many pairing preferences). The scenes don't have to be wildly unusual or anything. Just ones that have something that lifts them above the normal, whether in premise or simply in the writing.

ETA: okay, I'll be fair and start off the list.
Fics where the sex is never boring:
[livejournal.com profile] perseph2hades's Illiad fanfiction
[livejournal.com profile] stewardess_lotr's BHD fics(nope, still haven't seen the film).

And then scroll down the comments and enjoy them with me!

Ah, see, there's the last hurdle of what squicks me - slash I can deal with. Cross-generational stuff I can deal with. Mpregs I find funny, Wingfics are just ridiculous enough to amuse me.

Cannot deal with Incest. Nopenopenope. I just keep thinking in the back of my head "But ... but ... but ... EWWWWWWWWWWWWW."

*shudders*

I see exactly where you're coming from. Then I read the second part of [livejournal.com profile] stewardess_lotr's Shining One arc. Which is Boromir/Eomer. Then I went back to read the bit I'd missed and discovered it was Boromir/Faramir - although the rest of the series isn't. By that point it was too late.

Hector/Paris was a short leap to make. Especially with Eric and Orlando draping themselves all over each other.

But even if the Troyslash is still a 'no' I highly recommend the BHD fic. I'm totally hooked. The first few are good, entertaining and hot. And then it starts to get intense. At the moment I when there's an update I have to clear a portion of my day because I know that I'll be incapable of doing anything productive for a good hour after reading the chapter. And, like I said, I've never seen the film. And still have no desire too. Only the first one is set during the film, the rest are after, and they're more about international politics in the mid-late nineties than about the film. Oh yeah, and the men. So multidimensional they're hard not to believe in.

It's funny. This reply wasn't meant to turn into an all out devoted spiel on the series. I just think they're fantastic.

Good lord. *having just taken a look at the BHD fics*

Aren't they teaching you anything over at Cambridge that DOESN'T have anything to do with slash? *grin*

Although I don't think Troyslash has so much to do with it ... it's really more of the incest bit. I can't deal with Ron/Ginny or twincest either. (Or Ron/Harry, for that matter, since their relationship borders on brothers.)

I would probably very happily read Hector/Achilles, if any existed.

(I'm very sure it does.)

I've not seen any Hector/Achilles actually. But I'm about to start compiling lists by author and pairing for [livejournal.com profile] perseph2hades's up-and-coming site. So if I find any I'll let you know.

Do indeedy. Assuming it's well written (big assumption) it might be interesting.
