1+1 = hey, Your're at Cambrige University... +1=hey, so is cfeng...
Mucho impressed... I would have attended myself, but Salford University sounded much more salubrious...*places tongue in cheek* (and yeah, I had to spell check 'salubrious'). ;P

You could always ride around on a bike with a black gown and motarboard and charge a fiver for a picture with you.

Hehe yeah, but CFeng is a mathmo...

I don't own a mortarboard, only ride my bike to the boathouse and keep my gown in the wardrobe unless it's extremely necessary!

*hugs* They get it, but only to the point of "Hey, honey, come take a picture! It's a genuine student!"

And the sad thing? Not kidding.

LMFAO. True. Or to ask if we can take a picture of them standing on our bridge.

Looking at your icon: didn't know you were a UE groupie.

*grin* I hide my predilections well... Love the Brat's attitude - add music to the mix and I'm going to be happy for a long time!

I grew up in southern Arizona, where snowbirds flock every winter. (Snowbirds are anyone over the age of 70, who drive down the warmer climes so they don't have to hang out in the cold and wet winters of Norther' Whereverthey'refrom. They all wear shorts to their knees, socks to the knees, sandals, and big floppy hats. And they drive Winnebagos at 20 miles an hour in the fast lane.) I hate snowbirds.

I also live in DC, which gets its own fair share of tourists, who are all highly annoying. They stand at the top of the escalator in the Metro and wonder where to turn, while the rest of of struggle not to fall over them. They try to take pictures of the monuments at night with a flash (*snort*) or of the Washington Monument while looking directly into the sunset (*another snort*).

My husband, though, when he was a student at Harvard, would sit on the steps of the library and try to study, while tourists took pictures of him. I swear, if he'd charged for the privelege, he'd have earned enough to pay for his grad degree.

Sounds lovely. I grew up in North Wales, so also had to live among tourists. But I've never had them actually where I live and getting the way of going to do simple things like laundry before.

I understand what your husband went through!

I was in Cambridge almost a decade ago, as a traveller. I understand your frustration.

Does the fact that summer break's approaching comfort you?
