It's very clever, because not only does the way it works backwards leave you unsettled, but it means that the viewer, like Leonard, has no 'memory' beyond the last few minutes of film.

I'm not really a Russell Crowe fan. I've not seen LA Confidential, and I loved Gladiator, I just didn't really like him.
