Ned Kelly.

Oh dear, I'll be honest: it was pretty awful.

However it was quite pretty and I'm surprised at the lack of Orlando/Heath or Joe/Ned slash that I've seen. Maybe once it hits America.

I'd say it was worth going to see if only for the... (no serious spoilers)

... moment with the skull (and I defy any woman who wasn't already in love with Orlando to resist him at that moment).

...camel walking past the window.

All in all Orlando's accent wasn't as appalling as I'd believed from the trailer, however the beard was was wrong as I'd suspected.

I'll check them out in the morning, thanks. First I have to decide if I can face the idea. I found the film really entertaining, but I suspect for a lot of the wrong reasons.

I'll probably read some of the slash, but I can't see myself writing it (but then I said that about incest once, long ago. And back before that a similar thing about RPS, and back in the days before the wheel I wasn't planning on doing more than reading slash at all).

Off topic here sweetie, but hubby and a lot of my friends are wondering if you will be having any more of your stories published (hopes) my nieces loved your stories in Cricket.

Huggles,
Nan

I've sent a piece to a magazine over here, but not heard back yet. I was also thinking of sending the same piece (or one of a couple others, although I think this one 'Secrets' is the best one) to Cicada, which is the magazine for the age group above Cricket but published by the same company.

I haven't done so yet partly because I want to hear from the other mag first and partly because a have a half-written companion piece which I'm planning to finish and send them together.

My college term finishes on Wednesday so hopefully I'll get some time to sort out my creative writing then.

Thanks for asking, it means a lot that you liked it. Hugs to your nieces!

Orlando's accent wasn't bad at all. Heath's was pretty dodgy, but Orli's was grand. I only noticed him slip once. It's a southern Ireland accent. Something between tipperary and Dublin. :)

Good for him! He actually sounded quite a lot like some of my Irish friends. To be honest in the trailer it was Heath that I noticed and who made me expect the worst. I was pleasantly surprised by Orlando's talent :P Not just a pretty face.

Yeah, I do think that movie showcases his talent better than a lot of the other stuff he's been in. It's such a pity it hasn't reached a broader audience. I'm really sick of the 'orli has no talent' brigade.

I agree. It would be nice to see him do some genuine character acting. I mean, I make jokes about him, but I do think he's pretty good. For a start, PJ wouldn't have cast him if he couldn't act.

He wouldn't have gotten into Guildhall if he coulds't act. And Ridley Scott would certainitly not want him for the lead in a movie as big as kingdom if he didn't have absolute faith in his acting abilities.
