My lecturer this morning on Edward III:

"His effigy has a beautiful face and hair like Viggo Mortensen in Lord of the Rings. Those are fourteenth century haircuts and beards that the men have. I expect that's what they based it on."

I love random bits of LOTR making their way into my RL. I mean who knew this dour medieval historian was into LOTR? I like him so much more now!

What interested me was the phrasing. 'beautiful face' and 'hair like VM'? or 'beautiful face and hair like VM'?
Obviously I think the second!
