Yes, I do use a lot of active voice. Somehow, even here when Merlin isn't really doing much more than lying back, I don't write in passives. I think it's just the tone doesn't work for me so well. (I think your past continuous usage is interesting. It seems almost the opposite of mine, as if they are swept up into the actions somehow. I can't make that work.)
You might have mentioned it once or twice. In fact, it might be entirely your fault that I am so aware of the phrase :P It works better in That Other Fic I think than it does here.
