Well, we lost the race but we had a good time even though it was pouring with rain and freezing cold.
Afterwards we went to formal hall at Magdalene College - all old and lovely and candle-lit. We were a disgrace. The Magdalene boys completely took us down. The pennies were out before the starter was even served. (Pennying = strange tradition when you must immedietely down whatever drink the penny is dropped into. Very quick way to get large group of girls disasterously drunk. The more drunk you get the more rules of the 'game' you forget and consequently break meaning more downing as penalities).

Rowed again in the rain today in training for next Sat's Clare Novices race. I'm so very very cold! Yay for showers and hot chocolate!

Rowing is a lot of fun and hard work but I don't even want to consider doing it in this weather. It has been raining all day even if it isn't that cold.
Do you study at Magdalen? I have a penchant for that college because Oscar Wilde studied there and he is something of a hero of mine. Never had the chance to visit Magdalen myself though. I envy you just a little now :D

I'm at Queens' (Stephen Fry's old college, as it happens), but we do exchange formals: this one was Queens' women and Magdalene men. Next Weds Caius (Gonville and Caius, that is) boys are coming to ours.
It was the first time I'd been to Magdalene, and to be honest I didn't see much more of it than the courtyards, the bar and the dinner hall. It seemed really nice though, very classy!
