Clearly having to frantically work on something that isn't remotely as interesting as writing fic makes you come up with great ideas! And having three unfinished fics languishing somewhat neglected. :)
I'm interested in the idea of it as an AU. I was pondering setting it as close to the canon as possible, using the characters and locations of the show (and, I guess, introducing some others, even if just giving names to some other knights and servants).
