I'm sitting here plowing on with this essay, and as you do, I'm looking out the window.
It just inspired me to tell you how beautiful it is. It's a grey, cloudy, British, November day - that needs no further elaboration right?
The leaves have nearly all come off the trees in the grove outside my window, and I can see through them to the college moat. At the moment there are three swans on the water, and beyond them is the green where a group of boys are playing rugby. There are skeletal trees beyond them, and rising against the pale sky is the square Stalinist tower of the University Library. In the other direction is the river Cam and I can see through to the back of King's and the wide lawns.
I thought that once the leaves fell my view would become ugly, and was greatful for the grove being there. But actually, I like it just as much now!
