Hehe, that's clever - the compact story I mean. I suppose it was inspired by claims by stories that the Spanish claimed that the Mexica thought that they were gods and welcomed them and wanted them to rule.

I have an "ideas" notebook, rather than a file. And a mini one in my handbag just in case idea strikes! It's a chaotic jumble of stuff, like you say, some actual story ideas some just interesting things or fragments of ideas that get incorporated into something else later. I also used to have a fanfic separate one, but now they are pretty much all thrown in together.

I hadn't thought about the idea of the invaders playing off the different states against each other. Hmm, that has interesting posibilities. :)
