Dynasty of Ghosts by P.L.Nunn

It's original fic slash set in a fantasy world. NC17. Does contain some non-con, but not graphically and given that is something I hate to read I wouldn't think it would be strong enough for anyone to not read the fic because of it. This fic could do with a good beta to run through and pick up mistakes, but it doesn't suffer too much in the light of this problem. It's still well, well worth the read.

Author's summary: A blood feud between warring kingdoms places a young man with the unique ability to see ghosts in a precarious situation, where only he might be able to save the prince heir.

But that doesn't really give this fic justice. It's beautifully slow paced and the characters are interesting and while it never really hits those wow moments that classify my favourite fics, it still had me avidly reading when I should have been spending my time on more important things.

You are more than welcome. Do you know if there is any more? There is mention of 'Dynasty of Magic' elsewhere on the site but no evidence of it.

I was looking for it too. I read the first three chapters I think back when I first read the story. Back then she said she would write three parts all in all (dynasty of ghost being the first one). Don't know what happened, maybe she just lost the inspiration. I wrote and asked her back then, I think, but never got an answer. *sigh*

Oh, so there was one once then? There's no sign of it now. I emailed and asked today but haven't had a reply. There's a link to some anime-style stuff that is set in the world of the fic, but that's all I can find.

Or rather there are many different stories in the same universe concerning the same people. It's really great. Besides the dark handsome man and his blond lover with long hair.... That just reminds me of someone. :0)

Oh thank you. I'm really discovering a love for original slash, actually. Partially I blame those on my flist who managed to run so far from fandom in their fics that they became original fics. *coughstewardess_lotrandperseph2hades*

Have you read The Administration? It's much darker than Dynasty, but has some of the most fascinating characters.

Yeah it's sweet. :0) A disappointing lack of sex though. I need my porn fix or I become most unhappy. Not that I can't enjoy a story without sex, but when it's that long... *sigh*

ROFL! Yes, I'd noticed that. It gets a bit glossed over. Well if you do decide to read The Administration you won't have the same complaint. Although it's not as sweet as this fic.

For a good porny fic you should read the London Calling series by GioGio. I completely accidentally stumbled over it again after two years and realized it had been updated. I read it like forever ago and then it hadn't been updated for like two years. Now I was about to open the Yahoo Groups page, clicked on the wrong link and ended up in the original slash archive. *g* Saw her name, looked at her page and saw many new parts. Life is really freaky sometimes. The story is set in the 80's and nicely developed from freaked at being gay to lovingly devoted. Slight warning for 1 person POV though. I generally don't like those fics but this one is nice.
