Jun. 13th, 2005 07:22 pmI don't suppose there's anyone out there who could give me a simple explanation for the definitions of eleutheria, isonomia and isegoria (with particular reference to Athenian democracy, if that makes a difference)? My notes are practically indecipherable.
EDIT: as an incredibly simplified version, would anyone directly criticise the below definitions?
isonomia = equality under the law
isegoria = equality in freedom of speech
eleutheria = liberty/freedom, more abstract
