Jun. 8th, 2005 12:08 pmThought for the day:
Michael Gormon of Codicote died in 1338. He was so poor that he could pay no death heriot to his lord.
He was a real man. He could not have conceived that he's a statistic and that I'm sitting here thinking it was 38, wasn't it, not 37? in the hope that if I have to talk about a decline in the wealth of the peasantry in the fourteenth century I'll be able to use him as an example.
ETA. Fuck it. It was 37
