I'm trying to get the sound fixed on this computer, so if I vanish for an indeterminate length of time in the next couple of days then that is why. Hopefully it will be a case of hours (which would be unnoticeable) rather than days.

Good luck with that! I had the same problem but my sound was out for a year. Its best to get it sorted out as soon as you can.
