Hehe, there have been a few articles on fanfic and slash crop up in Canadian publications too.

But, Peter Pan slash, I just don't know......

*shudder*

Thank you for the link - I've read an article with a similar argumentation a while ago but reading this one still made me grin happily :).

Amused me too. Especially since I then immediately and rather cruelly thought it was entirely her fault for looking on fanfiction.net.

ROF. I kinda thought the same thing when I saw where she'd done her research. I've never looked at anything there, but I've heard the horror stories.

I hope she found some juicy Peter Pan stuff though.

I'm not sure I've ever read anything there either. The horror stories I've heard have been enough to make me stay well away.

Peter Pan slash. Ew. Well, Hook maybe, in the guise of Jason Isaacs...

Eh, even that's pushing it. I don't think everything that's ever created needs to be slashed. Lord.

I have looked there, when I just heard of slash and still didn't know what I was doing. Horror isn't a horrible enough word to describe it.

And despite that, the article was strangely flattering, I couldn't help but like that fact. Even though she screwed up the definition of slash...

Thanks for the linky! I thought that was a really good article, pretty fair and mostly positive, really. Especially since she went to ff.net to look around...from what I've heard that really wasn't a good choice. :-D

But I did like the part about fanfic introducing readers again to that original feeling of wonder and excitement when you first started to read stories, and I totally agree with that. I got that sense of wonder a bit in college, when I was finally old enough to be able to understand the themes of the fiction I was reading...hee...and we got to read the unedited versions of Shakespeare's and Chaucer's works...lol. But since then I've had kind of a drought and entering the fanfic world really made me get back into that rabid, excited reading I used to do when I was a kid. (well, now I'm a *bit* more excited...*snerk*)

Thanks for sharing!
