PLEASE READ
I've pulled my story Viggorli story "Footprints" from the internet because my father (an English academic and sometime editor of my fiction) likes it.
It's undergoing rewrites and "having the serial numbers shaved off" . I may not then do anything further with it, but I'd like the chance to think about it.
If you have a copy saved then can I ask you to dispose of it? Or at least to keep it for your own private reading until such a time as I repost, should I decide to do so.
Thank you.

And *whispers* I don't have a copy, so is there a chance I can be sent one for my own private reading? *bats eyelashes*

I'll see. I'm not really happy with anyone having a copy until I know what I want to do with it. But if I tear it apart enough (which seems possible), then yes, you can have a copy of the Viggorli version.

I'd love it if you'd trust me enough to send me a copy now, but I would never push it. I'll feel lucky to get it whenever you decided to. Not to mention that I'm very curious to see the before and after versions, as I worked as an editor.

You worked as an editor? It's something I've thought about for when I leave university. I'm quite interested in going into publishing generally. Chances are I'll email you the first version when I'm done with the changes, but I won't promise because I don't want to lie.

Yes, I worked as an editor and relying on people's reactions (both those who employed me and those who were semi-crucified by me), I'm a good one. I think you should consider trying it out, even in a non-professional forum, because it gives a lot of insight into your own writing as well. Not to mention the simple fact that I liked it. I loved being able to help out and feel that I contributed to other writers. ;)
