To share with you the excitement (sarc) of my essay on the emergence of the codex: Did you know the roll of Aristotle's Constitution of the Athenians (there is only one copy) is written on the back of a roll containing agricultural accounts?

I'm not joking. That's the highlight of the essay.

*snorts* The joys of writing essays about really exciting things. Reminds me of a term paper I had to write in medieval history about the wedding document of Princess Theophano. The highlight there was to discuss the placing of the seal. *facepalm* In times like these even ironing looked like a good alternative:-)

:) exactly. I think I'm spoiled because I usually find my essay research fascinating. And that makes it worse when they are, to put it simply, dull.

Ah, the pure joy of seeking knowledge...

Love it while you can. You've heard the rumour of the Brad Pitt/Keira Knightly remake? Allow me to go scream in the corner with my hands over my ears and my eyes squeezed tightly shut in horror.

I hope the rumour is just a case of bad humour.
It did cross my mind once that maybe Keira can play Elizabeth. But then, she might be too tall, too skinny and simply too modern for the role.
I think BBC did a great job in casting Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.
And I did fancy Orlando playing Darcy when he's 30 or so.

Eeeeeeeh.
Just the idea has plunged my house into deep mourning.

And good luck with a more interesting research topic next time. :)
